Prince Leopold Island - Polar Bears

Prince Leopold Island - Polar Bears

Top - Back into the sea again to swim between the ice floes. Occasionally they would open up a gap between themselves and start calling to each other to ensure they weren't too far away. Air temp: +4ºC Latitude: 74º02'N Longitude: 89º52'W

Bottom - A family of polar bears, probably female and two cubs investigate a submarine that has surfaced about 280 miles from the North Pole. Sea-ice allows bears to roam far and wide across the arctic ocean in search of food.
