I came to regard these hardy little birds as quite heroic living their lives in a harsh and unforgiving environment though like all things that have no choice, regarding it as entirely normal and just getting on with it. Meanwhile, I stood by all wrapped up and shivering feeling a bit horrified when I saw them not only floating on the cold sea but diving down within it.
