Harebell - Wildflower - Valley of the Flowers - Greenland

Campanula rotundifolia - Harebell is a very wide-spread species in the Northern Hemisphere and very varied throughout this range. The Greenland variety as might be expected is relatively short, with the flower spikes about 6-8 inches tall (15-20cm) whereas they can be 2-3 times taller than this in other places. They also differ slightly in the shape of the flower.
Apparently these flowers are edible and taste like mange-tout, though I only found this out after leaving Greenland so I can't comment on the wisdom or otherwise of eating them.
The genus Campanula are also known as Bellflowers for the obvious bell-shape of the flower, Campanula comes from the Latin meaning "little bell".
