Fireweed - Greenland, greenland, travel

Fireweed (Chameanerion angustifolium) clearly related to willow herb (also sometimes known as fireweed after its tendency to grow in areas newly cleared by fire) is another Greenland native that is noticeably similar to related species from lower latitudes, just a shorter more ground-hugging version of them. Whereas willow herbs frequently grow to 1.5m+ (5ft) elsewhere in Europe, these hardy specimens struggle up to 20-30cm (8-12") which nonetheless is quite significant amongst all the other vegetation which is in the main all ground-hugging
