Looking along the ice foot toward the Ross Ice Shelf from Cape Crozier, Ross Island. The open water shown in this picture refroze overnight illustrating the constantly changing, unstable ice conditions along much of the Antarctica coastline.

Shackleton's Hut, Cape Royds, 9-15-59

Shackleton's party erected this hut and wintered here, British Antarctic Expedition of 1907.

The hut is well stocked with food, still perfectly good including three smoked hams, complete with caribou sleeping bags and except for the vestibule is completely snow free.
